Affordability

The cost of living is simply too high. That’s why I’m focused on giving Michiganders a little extra breathing room in their budgets so they can actually get ahead — not just get by.

Track Record
  • Championed the repeal of the Snyder-era retirement tax to put an average of $1,000 a year into the pockets of 500,000 seniors.

  • Passed the largest tax cut for working families in Michigan’s history by quintupling the Earned Income Tax Credit.

  • Eliminated taxes on tips, overtime, and social security.

  • Made major investments to lower child care costs and expand affordable preschool for four-year-olds, helping families save $10,000 annually.

  • Secured funding for the Michigan School Meals Program, which ensures every child can learn on a full stomach while saving parents an average of $1,000 per child every year.

  • Invested in the state’s Housing and Community Development Fund, supporting safe, affordable housing for veterans, seniors, and working-class families.

  • Passed legislation ensuring veterans can access the benefits they are entitled to without being charged excessive fees or being given bad advice.
