Kevin Hertel Cuts Through The Muck

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. (Sept. 11, 2026) — This week, Sen. Kevin Hertel, the Democratic candidate for Senate District 12, released his first ad for the general election. The 30-second ad highlights Hertel’s track record of bringing dollars back to the district and cracking down on corruption in Lansing.

“I know something about cutting through the muck — this stuff here in Lake St. Clair, and what’s happening in Lansing,” Hertel says in the ad.

Hertel touts his record of bringing people together across the aisle to clean up Lake St. Clair, deliver millions to fix water infrastructure, pass the largest tax cut for working families in Michigan’s history, and take on big utilities to freeze Michiganders’ rates

“Cutting through the muck – well, it’s not that hard,” Hertel closes. “You just can’t be afraid to do the work.”
